Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Discipline Chat ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website discipline.chat and its related chat, story, voice, and account features (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose information in connection with the Service. This policy applies only to information collected through the Service and does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that we do not control, including third-party services linked from the Service.

2. Definitions

For purposes of this Privacy Policy: "Account" means the account you create to access the Service. "Content" means messages, stories, characters, scenarios, voice input, and other material you create or submit through the Service. "Personal Information" means information that identifies or could reasonably be linked to you. Additional capitalized terms are defined where they first appear.

3. Information We Collect

Account Information. When you create an Account, we collect information associated with your Account, which may include your email address, display name, account credentials, subscription tier and status, communication preferences, and records relating to your confirmation that you are at least 18 years of age (collectively, "Account Information").

Content Information. When you use the Service, we collect and store the Content you create, submit, or receive, which may include messages, conversation and story text, characters, personas, scenarios, prompts and related instructions, transcripts of voice input, and associated metadata such as timestamps, identifiers, token counts, and generation settings.

Technical Information. When you visit, use, or interact with the Service, we automatically receive information about your visit, use, or interactions, which may include your Internet Protocol address, approximate location derived from it, browser type and settings, device and operating system characteristics, referring pages, date and time stamps, session and security identifiers, error and diagnostic information, and information about the features you use and actions you take (collectively, "Technical Information").

Payment Information. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by third-party payment processors, which collect your payment information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may receive and retain associated records, such as membership status, subscription tier, and transaction identifiers, but we do not receive or store your full payment card number.

4. How We Use Information

We use Account Information, Content, and Technical Information for the following purposes: to provide, administer, maintain, personalize, and improve the Service; to create and authenticate Accounts and secure the Service; to process Content and generate responses through the Service's features; to measure, meter, and enforce usage limits and subscription entitlements; to communicate with you regarding your Account and the Service; to monitor, detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms or policies; to comply with applicable legal obligations and respond to lawful requests; to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and for other legitimate business purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy. We may also aggregate or de-identify information such that it no longer reasonably identifies you and use such information for any purpose.

5. Your Content

Your conversations and stories are private to your account. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not publish your conversations or make them visible to other users. We store and process your content to provide the Service, and we may access it when reasonably necessary for support, security, abuse prevention, quality improvement, or legal compliance.

We do not retain voice recordings. Voice audio is processed to provide the Service and automatically deleted a short time afterward.

You are not required to use real names or include other identifying details in your conversations, and we encourage you not to.

6. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose the categories of information described above in the following circumstances:

Service Providers. We disclose information to vendors and service providers that process information on our behalf in connection with the operation of the Service, including providers of hosting and infrastructure, artificial-intelligence and machine-learning processing, speech and audio processing, analytics, communications and email delivery, security and monitoring, and payment processing services (collectively, "Service Providers"). Service Providers are engaged for the purposes described in Section 4 and process information in accordance with their respective agreements and policies.

Legal and Safety. We may disclose information where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or is appropriate to enforce our terms or policies; to detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, or security issues; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Discipline Chat, our users, or others.

Business Transfers. We may disclose or transfer information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale or transfer of some or all of our business or assets, in which case the recipient's use of information will remain subject to applicable law.

We do not sell your Personal Information to third parties.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Third-Party Collection

We and our Service Providers use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies (collectively, "Cookies") to operate and secure the Service, which may include maintaining sessions and login state, remembering preferences and age confirmation, providing security features such as request verification, and understanding how the Service is used. We use Google Analytics (via Firebase) to collect information such as page views, device characteristics, and interactions with Service features; information about how Google collects and processes data is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you may opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Analytics and infrastructure providers may collect information about your activity over time and across different websites or online services, subject to their own privacy practices. We do not permit third-party advertising networks to collect information through the Service for behavioral advertising. The Service does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals. You may limit Cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain Cookies may impair portions of the Service.

8. Data Retention and Security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements; retention periods vary depending on the type of information, the purposes for which it is used, and applicable legal requirements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information; however, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices

You may access, review, and update certain Account Information through your account settings. You may unsubscribe from update emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in those messages. You may direct questions or requests regarding your information to the contact address in Section 12.

10. Age Requirement

The Service is intended solely for individuals who are at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an individual under 18 has provided Personal Information through the Service, we will take reasonable steps to delete such information and restrict further access.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date. If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or disclose previously collected Personal Information, we will provide additional notice where appropriate or required by law.
